You can mount two, paired S.A.M. devices on either side of a door. With “security mode” off any movement on either side of the door will alert the opposite side with a light. If the “audio” switch is on the other side also gets an audio “beep”. Also YOU CAN USE IT ANYWHERE, not only on doors!
The interior device has a security switch which makes notifications one-way only. If someone is outside your door you get an alert (light, or light + beep). But those outside your door will get no alert to your presence. Cool, huh?
S.A.M. just gives you new information. When rushing out of your apartment, you notice S.A.M. light up. You may choose to pause and look through the peep-hole before unlocking the door. If approaching a busy restroom door and S.A.M. lights up, you may just slow down to avoid an embarrassing collision. S.A.M. simply gives you new information that you did not previously have, you are free to use that information as you see fit.
Absolutely not! This makes S.A.M. very unique. As long as both S.A.M. devices are within wireless range (about 20′) they will work. Want to use S.A.M. on a sailboat in the ocean? Using S.A.M. in a cabin in the remote wilderness? No problem? 🙂 No phone or app is needed either. S.A.M. is just there constantly monitoring; so as you enter a specific space you receive a visual and/or audio alert.
S.A.M always alerts you with a bright LED light. But you may also want an audio alert, this switch tells S.A.M. to beep when presence is detected. Maybe you want to know a delivery was dropped at your door, or your friend is approaching. Want a reminder that Fido is at the back door? No worries Fido. Alert of presence for those with visual impairment? Sure thing! S.A.M. uses are limited only by your imagination.
No, very simple. Add batteries to both devices, press and hold the pairing button on the back, when both units flash a few times you are done they are paired. And they STAY paired until you do this again, even if batteries drain and are replaced.
Yes! Each pair of devices pair separately and do not interfere with other devices in the same space. Put one on the front door and second on the back door. Put S.A.M. on two restroom doors near each other.
No! S.A.M. is battery powered so you can move and place it as you need. Want to monitor if a child enters a hallway? Are you a realtor hosting an open house and want to know when someone enters the front door? You can simply twist S.A.M. off of the door mount and place it where you want! Carry the second S.A.M. unit with you around the house or just set it near you. If you are within the generous wireless range they will function!
